Going to get worse before it gets better

Man, as his press conference goes on in one place and bad news leaks out everywhere else, I do feel bad for Gene Chizik.

The Barkley thing, for instance. It's really not his fault he's going to be a symbol for college football's piss-poor record of hiring qualified African-Americans, but until/unless he succeeds and Gill fails, that's what he's going to be. It's not his fault Auburn's recruits are running screaming at the sight of him--whatever they say, odds are good they've have done that regardless of who Auburn hired. It's not his fault that his former AD is not only the sort of douche who thinks he's important enough to refer to himself in the third person, but the sort of douche who's apparently willing to grind that ax as long as it'll grind.

But that's the way it's going, the way it was always going to go, the way it's going to continue to go until Chizik wins. Not that you need the reminder, but buckle up, Auburn fans: it's going to be every bit as bumpy a road to next August as we thought it would be.

Auburn on College Football Live...of course we were the lead story, but those idiots took it a step further. They said Chizik had to visit Auburn as part of his interview Saturday then they cut to a video from AuburnSports.com of Jacobs, Gouge, and Riggins when they landed at AUO Saturday and the rabid fan booing. Not only is Chizik being crucified by our Auburn fans, but apparently by ESPN as well.

I thought no one could have it worse than us last year with the West BFG Virginians threatening to ransack the entire state for our loose women and similarly loose liquor, but damn. I'm sorry Auburn fan.

Brother In Arms Michigan fan.

I'm glad someone else noticed the doucehness -- plenty has and will bother me about the Chizik hire, but that guy's sour grapes won't.

Until Chzik loses 3 in a row to Alabama, loans Eric Ramsey Jr money, and gets Auburn on Probation, STFU, or at least tell Pat Dye to STFU. I thought he retired cause he was sick....
