First-year Auburn coach Gene Chizik said Thursday the race was too close to call.So it goes. As I've said: I'd much prefer Malzahn and Co. be patient and name a guy they believe in when they believe in him, rather than flip a coin, name a guy now just to look decisive, and possibly hand over a majority of reps to the wrong player.
"We've got two days left (in the spring), and I don't envision being able to name a starter," Chizik said.
Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn had said to start the spring that he hoped to identify a starter going into the summer. But there just hasn't been enough separation at this point.
If we go into Week 1 with Malzahn saying he's going to alternate series between the two of them--just to pick a hypothetical example--that's when we'll have problems.

(stabbing the hypothetical knife into my eye)
Why can't we find a qb who is worth a damn? Did Tuberville put up a sign while he was there that said, "Quarterbacks need not apply?"
just as long as the term "wonderful problem" is never uttered...
BE A MAN, man and name a QB after A day. It is not written in stone unless it is on a memorial at the cemetary FGS. Someone step up to the plate. Ask Fail j to flip a coin.......at least he has no trouble making a decision !!!!
NOT ideal.
I'm really starting to worry about Kodi. What is the deal? Seems like a two-year half-starter would have two legs up on, well, anyone else.
