"Anybody care what this guy thinks?"

Dr. James Gundlach, in a Pete Thamel-penned post titled "Former Professor Disagrees with Auburn Ruling":
The problem is that many people, including myself before I got involved in trying to protect academic standards at Auburn, believe that the N.C.A.A. does enforce academic standards among athletes,” Gundlach said. “The truth is that they are only interested in increasing the cash flow to the business of big-time college athletics.
Cue the Simpsons sound clip:

HOMER: Anybody care what this guy thinks?

CROWD: NO!

Worst. "Journalism." Ever.

The third comment -- by Wallace Renfro -- is spot on.

I had gundlach for stats I think, while I was there. His goal in life was basically to be in the New York Times - he got his wish at Auburn's expense.

I can't help but think somewhere there is a special term for professors at large four year state universities who are teaching sociology classes. anyone? anyone?
