Richard Quick passes on



Auburn's head swim coach, winner of 13 NCAA titles, passed away at his home in Austin last night. Part of me wants to point out that for all of David Marsh's incredible accomplishments at the Auburn helm, it was Quick who first got the Auburn swim program off the ground and who taught Marsh much of what he knew ...

... but as the comments from Bret Hawke in the article linked above make clear, somehow all that doesn't seem as important when compared to "his perseverance, compassion and his humanity" and the impact he made on his swimmers. War Eagle, coach.
