I just re-upped a couple of months ago, and a 7-day a week Birmingham News sub is $174.20, plus a tip for your carrier. That's like 47 cents a day. It costs more to turn the key in your car ignition!

.....That, and I've got a handful of al.com feeds I check every day, too. Breaking News, Joey Kennedy, Archiblog... Who's really getting ripped off as far as my news consumption is Andy Bitter. Bitter's blog is near-pay site quality. I know, because I'm paying for an Auburn Undercover subscription, too. And I'm reading Bitter with Firefox/Adblock Plus. Not really fair!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20559458.post-41641293222501769162009-02-20T00:00:00.000-05:002009-02-20T00:00:00.000-05:00Good write-up, sir. Users could pay a subscription fee for access not to one paper, but to a service that carries several papers (in electronic form of course). Blogs and the like could also fall under the umbrella.
I'd gladly pitch in a couple of bucks for a service that replicated my Google Reader subscriptions, including the shining beacon of blogs, the JCCW :)Marcushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03495555086229052057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20559458.post-78058360158932389242009-02-19T15:45:00.000-05:002009-02-19T15:45:00.000-05:00thank god i never finished my jounalism degree.thank god i never finished my jounalism degree.JR Suicidehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14367778966328167533noreply@blogger.com
